Development at Straiton West
Welcome to this consultation website for the proposed mixed use development at the allocated site of Ec3, located adjacent to Straiton Park and Ride, Loanhead.
Welcome to this public consultation process relating to proposals by Straiton Park Ltd for land in its ownership adjacent to the Straiton Park and Ride, Midlothian. The Proposal of Application Notice boundary is shown in red on the plan to the right, however the proposed development does not cover the whole of this area.
The site has been allocated for development for a number of years, and benefits from an allocation in the Midlothian Local Development Plan for a mix of uses including commercial and residential development.
It is for this reason, that Straiton Park Ltd are progressing with plans to deliver a mixed use scheme on their site. This consultation will provides details of the proposals to secure Planning Permission in Principle for such a scheme.
First Consultation Event
We held the first of two consultation events on the 12th January 2021 where members of the project team were on hand to answer any questions.
Following this consultation event, we accepted feedback until the 29th January 2021. A Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) has been produced, which also includes a summary of the feedback received during the course of the first consultation period. This can be viewed here.
These display boards used for the first consultation event, provide details of the site, details of the site, the planning position in further detail, provide some initial thoughts on site specific issues such as Transport before working towards a development principles plan for a proposed scheme.
Second Consultation Event
A second consultation event will take place in the next few weeks to provide a further update on our proposals. Details will be posted on this website and notifications sent to those who have left feedback to the first consultation.
